John Granen is committed to providing photography that exceeds expections. Attention to detail, composition and lighting characterize his photographs. John owes much of his success to the expceptional design and talent he is surrounded by. He provides photography for a range of clients and subjects that include magazines, interior design, architecture, food, hotels and advertising for many firms regionally and nationally.
John's techniques for lighting are inspired by the ever changing weather experienced in the Pacific Northwest and his study of film industry lighting. His style often emulates a gentle quality of natural window light, giving shape and depth to an image and a sense of integrity. When on location, his Sprinter van provides an ample source of equipment to create beautifully lit images.
As a native of Seattle, his personal endeavors include fundraising for the American Lung Association through the Climb for Clean Air program. John is also a member of the American Society of Media Photographers, and the Mountaineers. Oh, and he has been known to enjoy lutefisk and pickled herring - a family tradition.
